I would like to congratulate the University of Tasmania for offering two scholarships to asylum seekers living in Tasmania in 2017. 

The scholarships will allow asylum seekers living in Tasmania to further their education at our world class university.

“These scholarships are an investment in Tasmania’s future, and recognise the enormous contribution made by asylum seekers, both culturally and economically,” said Senator Singh

“Tasmania is a wonderful place to live and study, and I would like to congratulate the University of Tasmania for this fantastic initiative.”

The application period closes on 15 February 2017.
