This evidence is in, the Turnbull Government plans to rob Tasmanian children of $84 million of education funding.

Although Tasmanian schools are under the gun from Malcolm Turnbull’s $22 billion worth of cuts to school funding, Tasmania’s Liberal Senators have said nothing.

Tasmania had a previous agreement with the Federal Government that would have delivered an additional $100 million over the next two years.

 This is funding that our schools desperately need, but the Government’s Tasmanian representatives either won’t fight for it or don’t care. 

Education is the key to the future of our state. Tasmanian children deserve the best chance and the best educational standards – no matter their postcode, parents’ income or personal circumstances.

Labor has consistently advocated for real needs-based funding for our schools. We will fight this $22 billion dollar cut and we will fight for Tasmania’s children.

Tasmania’s Liberal Senators must back Labor’s demands that the Government honour their original agreement with Tasmania by implementing the full Gonski funding package.
